Palestinian Fund for Employment, the Ministry of Communications and Al-Quds University, sign memorandums of understanding to support the entrepreneurship in Palestine, Ramalah.

Palestinian Fund for Employment and Social Protection and the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology and Al-Quds University, have signed memorandums of understanding on the support of enterprenurship in the telecommunications and information technology sector in Palestine, in a ceremony on Tuesday at the headquarters of Ministry of Communications in Ramallah.

Dr.Mamoun Abu Shahla signed behalf of The Minister of Labor and the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Fund  and Dr. Allam Musa behalf of the Ministry of Communications, and behalf of Al-Quds University its president Imad Abu-Kishk, the memorandums emanating from the government vision and the efforts of the three parties to create new and sustainable good jobs opportunities and the employment of the unemployed and rehabilitation of students and graduates Especially  female graduates and marginalized to meet the requirements of the labor market, and these memorandums aim also to develop the capabilities of technology workers in particular, and to support the initiators of ideas and entrepreneurs who want to develop them into productive projects. Supporting the Entrepreneurship and Technology Incubator at Al-Quds University and supporting the economic empowerment of Jerusalem.

in his speech during the ceremony, Minister of Labor and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Fund, Dr.Mamoun Abu Shahla, stressed the goal of the memorandum, which is to support graduates and employment of Palestinian youth and support of pilot projects and start-up companies, considering this as an achievement of the political priority of upgrading in citizenship, digital industries and advanced information society.

Abu Shahla added that the Ministry of Labor and the Fund are fully prepared in terms of efficiency and infrastructure to provide service and deliver on time and ensure continuity and sustainability in the delivery of services.

Abu Shahla added that the Employment Fund aims to create decent job opportunities for job seekers, with a focus on youth graduates and marginalized groups, in order to contribute to reducing unemployment, poverty, achieving social justice and a better level of development by financing programs and projects that increase their competitiveness in the internal and external labor markets In cooperation with local and international partners in Palestine. The Fund also seeks to provide youth with a basic role in community development, cooperative activities and assistance in the establishment of productive, industrial and service projects, with the lending programs to support small and micro-enterprises, the Fund has managed despite the many great difficulties encountered  the process of bringing and fundraising       in general to achieve important successes and breakthroughs in the attention of the world and many countries and donors in support for the implementation of development projects for the benefit of graduates and unemployed in general.

For his part, Minister of Communications and Information Technology Allam Mousa said that the signing of memorandums of understanding comes from the government's vision of working to find new job opportunities and reduce the unemployment rate, based on the ministry's policy and its belief in the information society and the inevitable role of technology in the development, creativity and creation of opportunities, epically for youth and underprivileged segments In the Palestinian community.

Moussa added that he cherishes this qualitative partnership between an employmental institution represented by the fund and an important academic institution represented byAl-Quds University. He considers graduates of the groups that need all the support, especially at the beginning of their professional path, to launch their creativity and ideas.  That maybe through the memos could be unique projects serving the Palestinian community.

 

Moussa stressed that the support of the people of Jerusalem is one of the priorities of the government and the directions of the presidency are to  empower its youth and supporting their steadfastness in the holy city.

 

In his turn, the President of Al-Quds University Dr. Imad Abu Kishk considered this memorandum as a support for the graduates and the employment of Palestinian youth, especially the youth of Jerusalem, in order to make the priority of achieving economic empowerment in Jerusalem. He stressed the University's commitment to develop human resources in the Information Technology sector through training programs to provide employment It has specialized competitive skills to meet demand in the labor market.
