The Italian Agency for Development Cooperation decides to fund several loan projects in favor of PFESP

The Consultative Committee of the "Startup" project for lending implemented by PFESP, funded by the Italian government and through the Italian Development Cooperation Agency “AICS Gerusalemme”, approved the financing of a number of new development projects. It includes the establishment of three loan lines, two of which are interest-free and the other by the Murabaha system in accordance with Islamic Sharia law.

The committee also approved, during a meeting held at the seat of PFESP in Ramallah, headed by the Chairman of PFESP Dr. Nasri Abu Jaish, a project to support the general budget of PFESP. In addition to financing a program to establish micro-projects in Jerusalem without interest, as well as supporting the partnership project with Employment councils in Ramallah, Nablus, and the Gaza Strip. This is to promote a culture of leadership and initiative for youth and graduates and support projects.

In addition to Minister Abu Jaish, the meeting was attended by Christina Natali, Director of the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation in Palestine, Mohammed Musleh, Director of projects and Programs of the Agency in Palestine, Executive Director of PFESP Mahdi Hamdan, Leila Gharib, General Director of International Relations at the Ministry of Finance, and Taha Mohammed from the Ministry of Finance.

His Excellency Dr. Abu Jaish confirmed in a speech during the meeting that the signing of these agreements at this time has significant connotations. It also reflects the great confidence that PFESP has gained through its high technical performance in implementing development projects, especially the "Startup" project. It has a value of twenty million euros, which it has implemented for about four Years.

Abu Jaish praised the great and continuous Italian eagerness to support the Palestinian people and PFESP in a way that enhances the steadfastness of citizens on their land in the face of the settlement and occupation practices. He appreciates the great efforts made by the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation in this regard.

For his part, Executive Director of PFESP Mahdi Hamdan said that it was agreed during the meeting to approve a loan line worth $ 900,000 for the benefit of micro-projects in the Islamic method of Murabaha. In addition to approving a loan line worth half a million dollars and zero interest to support the establishment and implementation of projects for women in the marginalized regions. Finally, the approval of another loan line worth half a million dollars without interest to support agricultural projects.

Hamdan indicated that the implementation of these projects includes all governorates of the country from Jenin in the north to Rafah in the south. Hamdan praised the great role of the Ministry of Finance in supporting and facilitating the establishment of these projects.
