PFESP and the UNDP agree to give

Ramallah:

PFESP and the "UNDP" agreed to give "PFESP" priority in cooperation and implementation of operational projects in Palestine, especially in the Gaza Strip.

The two institutions also agreed to promote the capabilities of "PFESP" in providing technical services and to enhance targeted interventions to support community institutions. This is to move to the business field to achieve sustainability and enhance the services provided.

This came during a special meeting between the Executive Director of PFESP Mahdi Hamdan and the Deputy Special Representative of the General Director of the "UNDP", Jeff Briot. It was in the presence of Rami Mahdawi, General Director of Employment at the Ministry of Labor, and Moataz Dawabsheh, Programs Design and Implementation Analyst of the program.

Hamdan praised the responsibility and the great role of the UNDP in promoting development and implementing operational projects over many years. He expresses his pride in working with the program in more than one distinguished project, especially in the Gaza Strip.

Hamdan said that PFESP would greatly benefit from working with "UNDP" considering its accumulated experience in the work. PFESP would also benefit from unlimited support and cooperation with the employment department in the Ministry of Labor.

Hamdan pointed out that the coming period will witness a qualitative and quantitative leap in PFESP's work. It was able to build a partnership network with many international institutions related to the support and guidance of the Minister of Labor, Dr. Nasri Abu Jaish.

For his part, Briot stressed his confidence in the capabilities of PFESP, especially that he implemented several joint projects with the UNDP in the fields of employment in particular.

Briot expressed his hope that the range of cooperation between the program and PFESP will expand during the next stage.

In turn, the General Director of Employment at the Ministry of Labor, Rami Mahdawi, stressed the importance of operational projects with a development dimension in combating unemployment.

Mahdawi stressed the Ministry of Labor's readiness to provide all necessary support and what is required of it to develop operational projects implemented by international and local institutions, and the UNDP on top of it.

Mahdawi said that the Minister of Labor, Dr. Nasri Abu Jaish, attaches the paramount importance to development and operational projects for their important and pioneering role in alleviating unemployment.
