The Gaza Emergency Project Consultative Committee recommends approval of a list of projects

Tuesday, the Gaza Emergency Project Consultative Committee - Money for Self-Employment - held its third meeting at the seat of PFESP in Ramallah. It was in the presence of its members, and they are: Leila Gharib, Director General of International Relations at the Ministry of Finance, Dr. Samer Salama, Chairman and Deputy Minister of Labor, Mr. Mahdi Hamdan, the Executive Director of PFESP, and Ghassan Kasabra, the General Director of the NGOs Development Center. In addition, In the presence of Mr. Ismail Al-Nems, General Director in charge of Southern Governorate Affairs, Ministry of Labor.

In a speech at the beginning of the meeting, Mahdi Hamdan, the Executive Director of PFESP, stressed the importance of the project in improving the living conditions of thousands of young people and graduates in the Gaza Strip. In addition to the importance of the role of the consultative committee in implementing the project as planned.

It is worth mentioning that the project is funded by the World Bank with a value of $17 million, and is implemented by the Palestinian NGOs Development Center in coordination and cooperation with the Ministry of Labor, the Ministry of Finance and Planning, the Ministry of Social Development, and PFESP. This project, which will be implemented over three years, aims to providing the targeted youth in the Gaza Strip with temporary financial income and increasing self-employment opportunities through the Internet.

More than 5,000 young men and women between the ages of 18 and 34 expected to be benefited from this project. Also, it is expected that the proportion of beneficiary women will be at least 50%.
