PFESP and Chambers of Commerce sign agreements to implement One Stop Shop

The Palestinian Fund for Employment and Social Protection for Workers (PFESP) signed with the five chambers and commerce in Gaza Strip on Monday for the implementation of creating One Stop Shop for Employment and Business Services Project (OSS), in a speech of PFESP Dr. Salameh Abu Zaiter in his speech in the name of the Chairman of the Management Board and the Minister of Labor Mamoun Abu Shahla the Chairman of the Management Board of PFESP, to the high unemployment rates in Palestine and in Gaza Strip in particular, indicating that the number of unemployed reached 400 thousand unemployed, including 220 reached 73%, Abu Zaiter concerned that the great challenge that is facing the social partners is the unemployment and this needs a collective action within the development plan, especially in supporting the small micro-enterprises as an effective means to create job, make a development and promote youth initiatives and productive cooperatives as an effective means to promote the Palestinian economy, as he concerned that signing a memorandum of understanding with the Chambers of Commerce comes within the context of the implementation of the strategic plan, which is in the line with the National Development Plan that was adopted by the Palestinian Council of Ministers , while these shops will provide the Technical and Financial support to the small projects and help its pioneers to achieve the desired goal, Abu Zaiter stressed the importance of the role of social partners in production with collaboration and partnership and take responsibility for social issues related to the problems of workers and unemployed graduates, for her part, Ibtisam Al-Husari the Executive Director of PFESP confirmed that the project will target the unemployed graduates, marginalized and innovators groups, so that they will have access to soft loans, a grace period of one year and a reduced interest rate, Al-Husari stressed that the project will be implemented in the West Bank through 11 Employment Offices and in Gaza Strip through the five industrial agricultural commercial chambers, she expressed her confidence in the success of the project in increasing employment opportunities and self-employment and the promotion of the culture of production which will ensure the reduction of unemployment rates at the level of the nation, and increase the capacity of the national economy, Al-Husari emphasized that the project will help with creating a supportive and encouraging developmental environment for small, , medium and small-enterprises and entrepreneurship, and contribute to creating a development environment supportive of the growth and expansion of these facilities. She added that facilitating the provision of services to new business owners, and assisting them in accessing markets by facilitating the necessary procedures, and contributing to the development of the national policies that support and stimulate entrepreneurs and initiators to implement pioneering ideas and small productive and service projects. Al-Husari stressed that the role of PFESP as a national umbrella for employment based on the decisions pf the Council of Minister, Waleed Al-Husari the Vice President of the Federation of Chambers of Commerce in Palestine, The Chairman of the Board of Gaza Governorate Chamber for his part he stressed the importance of the project in alleviating the unemployment and employ the graduates and innovators. Al-Husari thanked PFESP for its efforts to implement this large project that targets marginalized groups, and especially graduates, workers and women, expressed his pride in the strategic partnership with PFESP.
