PFESP and Nablus Chamber of Commerce have signed a joint memorandum of understanding
This morning, Dr. Nasri Abu Jaish, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Palestinian Fund for Employment and Social Protection of Workers have signed with Omar Hashem, the Chairman of Nablus Chamber of Commerce and Industry, a memorandum of understanding for joint cooperation in the field of employment and economic empowerment. Especially for graduates, entrepreneurs, and marginalized groups. The signing ceremony has been attended by members of the Chamber's Board of Directors, Iyad Al-Kurdi, Bashir Hanani and Yassin Dweikat, the Chamber's Director General Issam Abu Zaid. PFESP's Executive Director Mr. Mahdi Hamdan, the Fund's staff, the Minister advisor Murad Abu Hanish have attended. A number of entrepreneurs also attended. They formed pioneering success stories through their access to financing from the PFESP and opened successful economic projects.
The Minister of Labor, Dr. Nasri Abu Jaish, in his speech, expressed his deep thanks to the Nablus Chamber of Commerce and the existing cooperation with the Ministry, and his pride in working with the Nablus Chamber of Commerce. Noting that this memorandum comes in the context of supporting economic development and social development by activating and stimulating labor market policies. This is to generate permanent job opportunities and the development of social capital, in a way that leads to combating poverty and unemployment on a strategic basis. "Today we add another service to our joint cooperation, which is the signing of this memorandum," he said. He pointed out that PFESP has become the national umbrella for programs and projects that will create job opportunities, especially graduates of both sexes. It implements a number of programs and projects that are characterized by the diversity of financing portfolios.
Mr. Omar Hashem said that the Chamber represents the private sector in the Nablus governorate from various economic sectors. It works to provide services to them, defends and sponsors their interests, and contributes to improving the work and investment environment. It always looks forward to increasing the competitiveness of members of men, women and businesswomen to support their capabilities and contribution to raising the growth rates of the local and Palestinian national economy.
The executive director of PFESP, Mr. Mahdi Hamdan, talked about the vision and mission of PFESP in supporting the existing and pioneering economic projects, and the groups seeking to open their own projects through self-employment. He mentioned the success stories that PFESP scored throughout the country. He referred to the direction of PFESP's board of directors to provide more of support and guidance for it for its success and sustainability.
