North Gaza - Installation of Home Agricultural Units

Today, the Palestinian Fund for Employment and Social Protection for Workers in cooperation with MA'AN Development Center started the work of supplying and installing home agricultural units. It is for the first families benefiting from the project "Enhancing Local Food Security for Most Vulnerable Households Affected by COVID-19 across Gaza Strip." It is funded by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development through the GIZ as part of the program of Strengthening the Resilience of Gaza Population.

The project targets 200 families from the governorates of the Gaza Strip, specifically in the most vulnerable areas. It extends them with home agricultural units within the borders of their home gardens. This is to enhance their food security and economic resilience; with particular attention to enhancing the ability to adapt to COVID-19 pandemic and its severe implications on their living conditions. This is in addition to improving job opportunities for a number of recent graduates in related fields.

This typical home agricultural unit (Hydroponics Unit) has been installed for a beneficiary in North Gaza Governorate. It was in the presence of a delegation from the GIZ represented by Eng. Hazem Al-Mashharawi and a group of experts in the field of agricultural units. The other units will be completed over the next few months.
