Abu Shahla: We need to create 1 million new job opportunities by 2030
That came within a speech of Dr.Mamoun Abu Shahla the Minister of Labor and the Chairman of the Management Board of PFESP, during the opening of the tripartite meeting to activate the national dialogue on the future “ Future of work “ at the initiative of the International Labor Organization, Abu Shahla pointed out that finding effective solutions to the problem of high unemployment rates it is through PFESP, in order to employ not staffing, through the provision of lending opportunities for youth and graduates, which the value per loan reaches 15 thousand dollars with 5% maximum interest rate, to establish small productive projects and enhance the efficiency of vocational training centers and increase the increase its number, in addition to focusing on the professional and technical disciplines that adapt to the need of the labor market.
Abu Shahla stressed that without policies based on real scientific studies to address unemployment and poverty, It will lead to the emergence of the economic recession in Palestine and neighboring countries, with the increase of unemployment rates to 400 thousand, especially as the government cannot provide jobs because of the government slackening as well as the weak private sector.
