Qatami participates in the meetings of the Arab Labor Organization Council to discuss the Support of PFESP

A delegation from the Ministry of Labor headed by Undersecretary Nasser Qatami left yesterday to participate in the meetings of the Arab Labor Organization, which will be held in the Egyptian capital Cairo today and tomorrow.

Qatami said that the meeting will discuss a Palestinian report on Israeli violations against Palestinian workers inside the Green Line and ways to formulate a unified Arab position to confront these violations and pressure the International Labor Organization to force Israel to stop these violations which often lead to the lives of workers and the denial of their financial and moral rights.

Qatami added that Israel continues its violations against Palestinian workers and the denial of their rights and non-compliance with international laws and standards of employment.

Qatami also pointed out that the Palestinian delegation will present to the members of the management board of the organization the subject of supporting the Palestinian Fund for Employment and Social Protection for workers as the national umbrella for employment, as announced by the Council of Ministers in more than one decision.

And the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Labor confirmed that Palestine is in urgent need of a quick Arab support to create employment opportunities and invest it in small employment and development and small –enterprises projects to overcome the unemployment crisis that exceeded the red lines in the West Bank and Gaza Strip.

Qatami pointed out that the high rates of unemployment in Palestine has become a real threat to the social fabric and the Palestinian steadfastness and therefore the Arab world is required to move immediately to help the Ministry of Labor and the Employment Fund to reduce the effects of unemployment and the resulting poverty.

 Qatami pointed out that activating the employment fund will contribute very positively in addressing the problem of unemployment in real terms. 
Qatami explained that the two sides will also discuss the preparations for the summit of the Arab labor ministers to be held in Cairo from the ninth to the fifteenth of the next month. 


Qatami explained that the summit of ministers of labor and according to the agenda will discuss ways to develop and raise the efficiency of vocational training and employment to address the growing unemployment crisis in most Arab countries in addition to discussing issues of labor and other employment. 
The meeting, chaired by Qatar's Minister of Labor, will be attended by representatives from Egypt, Iraq, Palestine, Emirates and the Secretary-General of the Arab Labor Organization.
