Launching the pilot phase of the National Program for Employment and Economic Empowerment for disabled people in Palestine
PFESP and the Palestinian Higher Advisory Body for the Development of Non-Governmental Organizations announce the launch of the pilot phase of the National Program for Employment and Economic Empowerment for disabled people in Palestine. It extends for six months. In its pilot phase, the program aims to enable persons with disabilities to join the Palestinian labor market. This is by building their capabilities, and preparing and adapting the local economic environment to be a supportive and enabling environment for the empowerment of disabled people in Jenin Governorate.
The program is based on three main outputs:
- Work on building the capabilities and skills of persons with disabilities to have occupations that help and empower them in society.
- Work on providing decent and sustainable job opportunities for persons with disabilities.
- Supporting persons with disabilities in creating small and promising projects.
Criteria and conditions for participation in the program:
The program targets persons with disabilities according to the following criteria:
- The person with a disability must be a resident of Jenin Governorate.
- The person must be between 18-35 years old.
- Not having a job / to be a government employee.
- Equal access for both sexes.
- The applicant must be ready, motivated and initiative to work.
- Full commitment to the project phases in accordance with the criteria contained in the detailed project plan.
- The person with a disability must be able to deal with the program's outputs in a way that achieves the desired empowerment.
