“PFESP” and “Investment Fund” agree on a program to support projects and develop vocational training
Abu Shahla and Mustafa discussed ways of joint cooperation to alleviate poverty and aggravated unemployment in Palestine. Minister Abu Shahla reviewed PFESP's programs and plans as the national employment umbrella for employment and economic empowerment. Abu Shahla stressed the importance of small projects and their support for their paramount importance in supporting the national economy, developing exports, and reducing unemployment.
He noted that PFESP really needs at least a billion dollars during the next three years to invest in the form of loans granted to young people and graduates wishing to establish productive projects. Abu Shahla also stressed during the meeting the importance of training and vocational education in adapting the need of the labor market in light of the large numbers of unemployed academic graduates.
For his part, Mustafa stressed the Investment Fund’s keenness to reduce poverty and unemployment, and most of its work and projects in the country are focused on this aspect. Mustafa said "We see ourselves as partners with PFESP in terms of achieving social impact and reducing poverty and unemployment, and we pay great attention in this aspect and through the Palestine Development Foundation, which is one of the executive arms of PFESP."
Mustafa promised to work in full force with PFESP in order to achieve its high national goals.
For her part, Amal Hamad, a Board Member of Directors of PFESP, emphasized the role of PFESP as an economic lever in Palestine and a strong tributary in society. She notes PFESP's distinction in terms of its legal strength and the composition of the board of directors.
She said that PFESP is required to protect young people and provide job opportunities, which means to protect them from social, intellectual, and moral deviation, and this is a responsibility that everyone should support.
In turn, a Board Member of Directors of PFESP, Mazen Sonokrot, stressed the importance of vocational and technical training. He reviewed the work of the Italian project and some of the projects implemented by PFESP.
For his part, the Executive Director of PFESP, Imad Hussein, addressed the future plans of PFESP and the strategy in operating and supporting small productive projects. He stressed that PFESP had come a long way in laying the proper foundations for this aspect.
Hussein said that PFESP began implementing many important projects on the ground in the operation and establishment of projects in cooperation with lending institutions. He noted that the next stage will witness the implementation of many important projects.
In turn, Mahdi Hamdan, Director of Public Relations and Recruitment of PFESP, said that PFESP attaches special importance to micro and micro-developmental projects. Hamdan added that he addressed several relevant institutions in order to implement joint projects in this framework.
