Confederation of Palestinian Trade Unions condemns the attack on the ministers of the National Consensus Government
Gaza:
In a statement issued by the Confederation of Palestinian Trade Unions, Secretary-General of the Confederation, Shaher Saad, condemned the vicious attack on a convoy of ministers from the National Consensus Government. They were going from Gaza to Ramallah, to attend the weekly cabinet meeting. Sunday morning, Sep. 23, 2018, unknown persons blocked vehicle of the Minister of Public Works and Housing, Mufid Al-Hasayneh, vehicle of the Minister of Labor, Mamoun Abu Shahla, and vehicle of the Minister of Women Affairs, Haifa Al-Agha. It was near the Beit Hanoun checkpoint in the northern Gaza Strip.
The Confederation called upon the authorities responsible for security in the Gaza Strip to investigate the incident, which does not serve reconciliation efforts. This is after a group of mobs threw stones at vehicles of the aforementioned ministers while they were heading to Ramallah.
The statement called upon the Palestinian political level not to pass unnoticed through this incident. Rather, stopping there, granting it the worthy of investigation, publicizing the facts that are reached for public of our people, defaming its makers, masterminds, and executors. and exposing the intentions of the trolls of our unity. So, they can be besieged and defeat their malicious efforts aimed at keeping our people hostage to division and fragmentation.
