Amman: Labor Minister Abu Shahla discusses with his Jordanian counterpart promoting joint cooperation and experiences exchange

Wednesday, At the Jordanian capital, Amman, The Minister of Labor, Dr. Mamoun Abu Shahla, Head of PFESP, discussed with his Jordanian counterpart, Samir Murad, enhancing joint cooperation and experiences exchange. In addition to studies, research, information and experiences related to developing programs and curricula of vocational training, occupational health and safety, employment, labor inspection, and social insurance, Labor relations, information and statistics systems, professional classification and characterization, and building an advanced database on labor force.

Abu Shahla began the meeting by conveying the greetings of President Mahmoud Abbas, Prime Minister Dr. Rami Hamdallah, the government and the Palestinian people to King Abdullah II, the government and the Jordanian people.

Abu Shahla extended his deep condolences on behalf of the government and the Palestinian people to the Jordanian people and the families of the deceased in the tragic accident. It occurred in the Dead Sea region last week and resulted in the death of 21 Jordanian citizens.

Abu Shahla emphasized during the meeting, which was attended by members of the entourage, that his ministry is currently prioritizing supporting and enhancing the capabilities of Palestinian youth looking for work from both sexes. He pointed out the importance of benefiting from Jordanian experiences in the field of vocational training, social protection, micro and medium enterprises and employment funds.

Abu Shahla praised the great efforts made by the Jordanian Ministry of Labor in the field of empowering and training Jordanian youth for employment purposes.

For his part, the Jordanian Minister of Labor affirmed his ministry’s keenness to open and develop wider fields of joint cooperation in various fields of work, exchange experiences, and take unified positions on labor issues at the level of Arab and international organizations.

Murad said that this meeting comes as an affirmation of the brotherly and distinguished relations between the two brotherly Jordanians and the Palestinian people; in order to strengthen brotherhood and cooperation.

He pointed out that the Jordanian Ministry of Labor places its experiences in front of the Palestinian Ministry of Labor. This is in the field of exchanging studies, research, information and experiences related to developing vocational training programs and curricula, occupational safety and health, labor inspection, social insurance, labor relations, information and statistics systems, and professional classification and characterization.

On the Palestinian side, the meeting was attended by directors and employees of the Ministry of Labor, the Head of the Cooperative Work Agency, Youssef Al-Turk, the Director of PFESP Mahdi Hamdan, and the Director of the Social Security Inst, Samir Al-Masry. On the Jordanian side, the Directors of the Development and Employment Fund, the Employment and Training Fund, and the General Director of the Social Security Inst, and General Manager of the Vocational Training Inst, and Senior Officials of the Ministry of Labor.
