Dr. Mamoun Abu Shahla, Minister of Labor, and Dr. Sufyan Sultan, Minister of Agriculture, agreed on a common vision to implement the greenhouses project
Abu Shahla began the meeting by emphasizing that the greenhouse project will be implemented in all governorates of the country. It will be in a manner that guarantees the growth and increase of agricultural graduates' experiences. It is to align with the needs of the market in light of limited resources, and the danger poses to the Palestinian economy in the next five years. This indicates that the rate of Unemployment is expected to reach one million.
The project will be implemented by the Ministry of Labor, the Ministry of Agriculture, PFESP, the Agricultural Loan Fund, and the Cooperative Work Authority.
Abu Shahla proposed to the Minister of Agriculture to play their role to select qualified youth to assist in the implementation of the project. He noted that this is to pool joint efforts between the parties implementing the project. This is to create brands and marketing centers that raise the Palestinian economy.
For his part, Dr. Sufyan Sultan welcomed the interest of the Ministry of Labor in operating the Palestinian workforce in the agricultural sector. He confirmed that the Ministry of Agriculture will work together with the Ministry of Labor in implementing greenhouse projects. He says: "We have full engineering specifications that are internationally approved for agricultural greenhouses", noting that Palestine is the second country in the world working in agricultural insurance. It has made a significant achievement by establishing the Agricultural Risk Prevention Fund.
The two parties concluded the meeting by agreeing to start implementing the aforesaid project through a common vision. They also agreed to hold preliminary meetings to study joint implementation mechanisms through a committee formed by all parties. The first meeting will be held tomorrow, Thursday, one o'clock, afternoon. It is informed that it was agreed to put an understanding memorandum between all parties soon.
