The Director of PFESP and the Governor of Ramallah and Al-Bireh cities agree to enhance work to support the youth and graduate

The Executive Director of the Palestinian Fund for Employment and Social Protection of Workers, Mr. Mahdi Hamdan, and the Governor of Ramallah and Al-Bireh cities, Dr. Laila Ghanem, discussed ways to enhance joint cooperation and ways to support the youth sector. They discussed how to help youth in finding job opportunities through development and operational projects. Also, how to benefit from the large and important role of Dr. Ghannam, who heads the Employment Council in the governorate of Ramallah and Al-Bireh.

Mr. Hamdan and Dr. Ghannam agreed to enhance cooperation between PFESP and the Governorate's Employment Council. This came during a visit by a delegation from PFESP to Ramallah and Al-Bireh Governorate on Monday.

Mr. Hamdan, during the meeting, reviewed the projects implemented by the Fund, as well as the projects intended to be implemented during the next stage.

Hamdan stressed that PFESP is making every effort to implement vastest volume of projects in all governorates to alleviate the reality of youth and provide them with assistance. He pointed out that PFESP has succeeded through its strategic projects in providing thousands of permanent job opportunities.

He referenced that the next stage of the fund's work will witness a visible increase in projects. He stressed that PFESP has become a reliable path for donor institutions that want to implement operational and development projects in Palestine. He emphasized that this confidence is strengthened day after day in light of the leading performance of the fund's staff, which operates according to the government policy agenda.

For her part, Dr. Ghannam praised the important role that PFESP plays in fighting the scourge of unemployment. It is deepening due to the Israeli occupation measures in the West Bank and its blockade of the Gaza Strip.

Ghanem expressed her complete readiness to provide all forms of support to PFESP in this framework. She instructed to deepen the relationship between PFESP and the employment council in the governorate.

Ghanem stressed that providing job opportunities for youth is on the top priority and concern of His Excellency President Mahmoud Abbas and Prime Minister Dr. Mohammed Shtayyeh.
