Minister Abu Jaish welcomes the Special Representative of UNDP and discussed with him the development of joint work
Today at the Ministry’s seat in Ramallah, the Chairman of PFESP, Minister of Labor Dr. Nasri Abu Jaish, received the Special Representative of the (UNDP), Roberto Valent.
Minister Abu Jaish discussed with Valent the prospects for cooperation, partnership, and agreement on appointing a joint technical team between the "Program", PFESP, and the Ministry of Labor. In addition to defining the framework for cooperation in designing and implementing programs and projects to support employment, create job opportunities, and support infrastructure for vocational training.
Abu Jaish stressed during the meeting, which was attended by Executive Director of PFESP Mahdi Hamdan, the importance of promoting cooperation and work with the UNDP for its great role and history in the field of development and employment. He expresses his pride in working with them. Abu Jaish reviewed the reality of employment in Palestine, especially in the Gaza Strip, and the high unemployment problem, especially among young people and women, due to the measures and violations of the occupation and its tight blockade of the Gaza Strip.
Abu Jaish said that PFESP is working hard through its various programs and projects to help alleviate the intensity and reality of the crisis. It is exacerbated by the impact of the US and Israeli financial blockade imposed on the National Authority.
Abu Jaish called the UNDP to intensify its developmental and operational projects and to recruit the necessary funds for it. In accordance with the role assigned to it to alleviate the harsh reality of young people and graduates in particular.
Abu Jaysh expressed his readiness to use all the capabilities to work with the program in order to succeed in its projects and implement them to the fullest. He reviewed examples of joint work in this field between PFESP and the program.
For his part, Valent promised that he would continue to work to implement such projects, which the program places at the top of its work priorities.
