PFESP announces the financing of the Business and Technology Creativity Race

PFESP announces the financing for the “Hackathon” Business and Technology Creativity Race and hosts a workshop to announce its launch.

Within the framework of its support and financing for entrepreneurs, PFESP hosted a workshop on launching the race for business and technology creativity. The Gaza Strip is preparing for the first time to incubate it on the thirteenth of this month for a period of three days. It will be with the participation of hundreds of developers, creators, and entrepreneurs of both sexes from all governorates and funded by "PFESP".

The workshop organized at PFESP’s seat in Gaza City. It was attended by Dr. Amal Hamad, official of the General Union of Palestinian Women, PFESP’s Board member, and Mohammed Abu Zuaiter, Deputy Executive Director of PFESP, and dozens of representatives of institutions and ministries and the Employment Council.

In a speech during the workshop, Dr. Amal Hamad, who supervises the implementation of the event, said that the race is one of the joint program initiatives between "Entrepreneurship", the Palestinian Entrepreneurship Union, the General Union of Palestinian Women, BTI Business Incubator, and PFESP. It is within the framework of organized institutions commitment to stimulate the innovative climate and reach regional and global leadership in the fields of technology.

Hamad said that the race is in the interest of supporting the young energies and providing them with varied opportunities. It is within the efforts of environmental and economic development in the southern governorates. It also seizes the young technical talents that highlight the participation of women. Finally, it also in the interest of exploring and developing entrepreneurship and technology.

Hamad said that the race, funded by PFESP and the Palestinian Entrepreneurship Union, will also be organized in cooperation with Al-Azhar University, the Islamic University, and the University of Palestine.

For his part, Eng. Mohammed Abu Zuaiter, Deputy Executive Director of PFESP, said that the idea of the race, which has the slogan "Challenge, Youth and We are for it," aims to polarize the leading minds in the field of programming. It invents technical solutions that contribute to enriching and improving the economic and tourism environment in the southern region. With entrepreneurial ideas in each of the aforementioned sectors. In addition to polarizing trainers in the field of digital marketing, and working within teams under each sector. They work within a framework of a competition and challenge to come up with the best solutions and design a project that promotes competition and financing in 3 continuous training days.

As for Eng. Rabah Al-Masry, one of the supervisors in organizing the event, explained that the "Hackathon" will form an educational platform that creates opportunities and aspirations to form an appropriate and stimulating climate for entrepreneurs from all over the world. It is to exchange experiences and ideas, and turn them into a reality that seeks to generate accelerating economic growth.

Al-Masry said that the event in the Gaza Strip will target Palestinian youth entrepreneurs, owners of startups, government and private sector employees, students, administrators, and all those interested in expanding their perceptions regarding entrepreneurship.

Al-Masry added that the week will bring together more than 50 influential partners in the field of leadership from different Palestinian geographical regions. They have implemented many entrepreneurial activities in various fields; making it a platform for Palestinian youth for creativity and excellence.
